Michael Luecht
Michael Luecht, 66, of Bremerton WA passed away Tuesday May 26, 2026. A celebration of life will be held in Bremerton WA on Saturday June 27. A private family gathering will take place in Iowa at a future date.
Michael Luecht was born in Iowa City IA on October 25, 1959 to Marlyn and Carol Luecht. They moved to Mason City IA and later to Sheffield IA where Mike graduated from Sheffield-Chapin High School. Mike was a good athlete and enjoyed playing and coaching baseball.
Mike attended the University of Northern Iowa before joining the US Army, where he made his career. Mike served in many roles in the Army, including as an infantry soldier and as a recruiter in Butte MT. Mike was stationed in many places through out the US as well as overseas in Korea and Egypt.
In December 1993 Mike was married to Chantal and they had one daughter, Citori. After 20 years of honorable and distinguished service, Mike retired from the Army and the family moved to Kitsap County WA. Mike was so proud of his daughter and enjoyed attending her activities while she was growing up.
Mike was a dedicated outdoorsman and passionate conservationist. He enjoyed fishing and shooting as well as duck and pheasant hunting. Mike also trained and hunted with many dogs including his beloved Annie and Scooter. Mike served as President of the Bremerton Trap and Skeet Club. He was very involved in Ducks Unlimited and held many roles including Area Chairman, District Chairman and State Chair Elect. It was reported that Mike was the most successful Feather Society Chairman in the history of DU Washington.
Mike is survived by his daughter Citori (Zane) Bilous; sister Lori (Monty) Schmale; brother Eric (Marni) Luecht; three nieces, one nephew, several cousins as well as many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marlyn and Carol Luecht.
