Jeroma Broz Wemhoener

We lost our Dear Mom this month - we were so blessed to have her as long as we did.

In Loving Memory Jeroma Broz Wemhoener 7/22/1928 - 12/19/2022

Jeroma passed away peacefully into God’s care at the age of 94. She was born July 22,1928 to parents Nicholas Broz and Katy Lucich in Tacoma Washington. She had an older brother Fred and a younger sister Elizabeth. Her father moved the family to Bremerton for several years to work in the naval shipyards during WWII. It was here that she would meet her future husband Joseph Perucca next door. After moving back to Tacoma Jeroma attended Lincoln High School and began working at the Tacoma News Tribune.

When WWII ended Joseph returned to Washington from the navy and they soon married and had 3 daughters, Linda, Carol and Joan. They established their home in South Seattle and Jeroma took pride in homemaking, gardening and raising her family before the start of her 35 year career at the Boeing Company.

At Boeing Jeroma started out as a secretary then advanced to executive secretary at the Kent Space Center. She later transferred to the main lobby as a receptionist for Boeing international travelers and clients. She was known for her gracious friendliness and contagious smile. Boeing executives would comment on her impeccable style and she won awards for her professionalism in representing Boeing.

She met her late husband Rolf Wemhoener at Boeing and they lived at Dash Point Tacoma enjoying sailing on their sailboat, gardening, traveling and entertaining their 5 daughters and 13 grandchildren.

She was a devoted wife and mother and is survived by her 3 daughters: Linda Sexton, Carol Morris, Joan and husband Randy Higman, 7 grand children; Ebony and husband John, Lisa, Jessica and husband John, Sarah and husband Ashton, Soma and husband David, Jeroma, Seth and 13 great grandchildren: Madeline, Sophia, Isabella, Declan, Christiana, Joseph, Layla, Jack, Anton, Solona, Kiara and Gavin.

She will be greatly missed by all. Whether it was the postman, garbage man or grocer Jerri went out of her way to compliment and show them appreciation for their service. She loved to make people feel good. Jeroma is laid to rest next to her husband and ancestors at the Calvary Cemetery in Tacoma. Care is being provided by Emerald Cremation and Burial.

A Celebration of Life will be held in May of 2023. Date and details will be provided closer to the event date. https://www.emeraldcremationandburial.com
